Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry / emerger hook, 12-18
- Thread Purple or Black 8/0
Materials
- Z-lon / Antron (trailing shuck) Amber/brown antron or z lon (sparse)
- Dry-fly dubbing (body) Purple ice dub (pinch)
- Para-post wing White uni stretch (1 clump)
- Dry hackle (parachute) Grizzly hackle (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start the thread at the 70% mark.
- Tie in a sparse amber Z-lon trailing shuck at the bend, stubby (about half a hook gap).
- Dub a slim purple abdomen from the bend forward to the 65% mark.
- Tie in a white para-post upright and build a thread base around it to stand it up.
- Tie in a grizzly hackle at the base of the post.
- Dub a purple thorax around the base of the post.
- Wrap the hackle parachute-style in 4-5 turns down the post and tie it off under the post.
- Whip finish and add a tiny drop of cement, keeping it off the hackle.
