- Hook curved caddis/scud hook, 12-16
- Thread Dark brown 70 denier
Materials
- Tungsten bead Black or gold bead (1)
- Sparkle/Antron dubbing (abdomen) Bright green or Olive sparkle antron dubbing (pinch)
- Ultra wire (rib) Copper wire (fine)
- Ice dub (thorax/wing pads) Dark brown / peacock ice dub (pinch)
- Pheasant tail fibers (legs/antennae) Natural dark pheasant tail fibers (a few)
How to tie it
- Slide the tungsten bead to the eye, mount the curved hook, and start the thread.
- Tie in fine copper wire at the bend for the rib.
- Dub a slim, translucent bright-green abdomen forward to the 65% mark.
- Rib the wire forward in 5-6 open turns, tie off, and break the tag.
- Sweep a few dark pheasant-tail fibers back along the sides as trailing legs/antennae.
- Dub a fuller dark thorax behind the bead to suggest the dark wing pads.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
