Rubber legs Speckled orange rubber legs (2 strands)
How to tie it
Cover the rear two-thirds of the shank with thread down to the bend.
Cut a strip of 6mm black foam slightly wider than the hook gap and taper the rear end. Bind it on top at the bend, then advance the thread in 3 evenly spaced segmenting bands to the 60% mark, cinching the foam into a plump body as you go.
Tie in a sparse light-dun thin-wing over the body, flat and tent-like, length reaching just past the bend.
Figure-8 one speckled rubber leg on each side at the 60% mark so a pair kicks out and back from each side.
Fold a strip of 1mm black foam forward over the thorax to form a wing case and stubby head; bind it down at the 60% point and again just behind the eye, leaving a short head. Do not crowd the eye.
Stack a clump of dark-gray then fluorescent-orange para-post upright at the thorax and anchor it as a high-vis indicator wing.
Whip finish under the head, trim the legs to about one shank, cement the wraps.
