Start Veevus 16/0 red thread right at the eye of the size 22 Daiichi 1273.
Attach a single strand of Hot Yellow Pearl Krystal Flash by its tip only.
Make touching wraps of the flash down the shank until you reach the hook barb, then wrap it back up the shank to the tie-in point. If you are not using a bobbin cradle, untwist the thread a few times so it does not bulk up under the flash.
Capture the flash at the original tie-in spot with a few wraps and snip the waste.
Spin a thin noodle of red Hairline Rabbit Dubbing on the thread and wrap it just behind the eye as a small dubbing ball head. The longer guard hairs will stick out, and that is what you want.
Paint Hard as Hull onto the thread, then whip finish.
