  • Hook curved scud/shrimp hook, #10-16
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Shellback Clear/mottled thin skin (1 strip)
  • Body dubbing Olive/tan body dubbing
  • Egg sac Fluorescent orange egg sac (pinch)
  • Wire rib Copper wire

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and tie in a shellback strip and a fine wire rib at the rear of the curved shank.
  2. Dub in a prominent fluorescent-orange egg sac at the rear to show the pregnant belly.
  3. Dub a plump body forward following the curve to behind the eye.
  4. Pull the shellback over the back and secure behind the eye.
  5. Counter-rib the wire forward in 5-6 turns to segment; tie off and trim.
  6. Pick out dubbing on the underside for legs.
  7. Whip finish behind the eye.
