Reference Recipe

  • Hook wide-gap caddis/grub hook (e.g. Gamakatsu C12U), 6-8
  • Thread Fluorescent pink 140 denier

Materials

  • Nymph-Rap 4mm (body) Nightcrawler brown (1 length)
  • Lead wire (0.02") Natural lead wire (midsection wraps)

How to tie it

  1. Wrap a bed of lead wire over the middle of the shank to sink the worm, then bind it with thread.
  2. Lay a thread base and tie in one end of the Nymph-Rap material at the bend.
  3. Wrap the Nymph-Rap forward in touching turns over the whole shank to build a fat, glossy worm body, tying off behind the eye.
  4. Leave a short tag of the material trailing off the bend for a wiggling tail, then trim.
  5. Build a small pink thread collar and head as a hotspot.
  6. Whip finish and add a drop of cement.
