Slide the 3/32 Tungsten Jig Bomb onto the barbless jig hook. The bead's hole is offset, so it mounts on the flat of the upright and sits out over the front of the hook.
Start the grey Veevus just behind the bead and build a small wedge of thread against its back edge to lock it in place. That makes the bead the high point on the hook, and the offset weight is what makes the fly ride hook point up. Snip the tag.
Bind a piece of fine blue wire in just behind the bead, pull it back through and catch it again, keeping it along your near side where you can see it, then wrap back to just around the bend.
Come forward again with smooth touching wraps to build a slim thread body with just a little taper - the 14/0 lies flat enough to keep it clean.
Wrap the blue wire forward in about five evenly spaced turns up to the bead, tie it off with a couple of turns, then helicopter it and break it out.
Twist a tiny pinch of UV Grey or lavender Ice Dub tight on the thread - on a size 20 that is a fingertip's worth, no more - and build a small ball behind the bead so the dubbing runs out just as the thread reaches the bead's back edge.
Whip finish right in there behind the bead.
Put a little head cement on the thread, take a couple of turns and then unwind them, so the cement bleeds into the wraps without gumming up the dubbing.
