How to tie it
Slide the 4.2 mm tungsten bead onto a half-inch sequin pin and lash the pin along the top of the shank so the bead sits just past the hook eye; coat the first wraps with Zap-A-Gap, then cover with more tight wraps to lock the pin in.
Wrap thread to a point slightly down the bend. Strip the fuzz from the quills of a clump of webby olive marabou, measure it a little more than one shank length, and bind it in on top so the tie-down runs a short way down the bend. This keeps the tail from fouling around the hook.
Double a strand of Flashabou Accent around the thread and bind one strand down each side of the tail.
Tie in an equal clump of white marabou directly under the olive, same length, so the tail is two-tone: olive on top, white below.
Form two dubbing loops at the tail tie-in, doubling the thread in each loop so the fine thread will not break; clip the second loop out of the way.
Load the first loop with a thin layer of olive Ice Dub, then a bit of olive-brown Bruiser Blend. Spin the loop into a tight noodle and tease the fibers out with a dubbing brush.
Palmer the noodle forward in touching turns, sweeping the fibers back after each wrap; stop and tie off directly behind the bead. Brush the body out and trim the fibers on the underside.
Load the second loop with white minnow-belly Ice Dub, spin a short noodle, tease it out, then pull it forward under the body and tie it off behind the bead to form the pale belly.
Whip finish with 4-5 turns behind the bead and cut the thread. Break off any overlong stray fibers.
Squeeze the head area flat with pliers, glue a 3 mm eye to each side with Zap-A-Gap, then coat the head with Solarez Bone Dry to lock the eyes and prop the body fibers into a slim baitfish taper; cure with UV light.
