Pink Sock Sowbug Jig

Reference Recipe

Slotted tungsten bead Copper or silver slotted tungsten bead (1, sized to hook)
Sowbug / scud dubbing Gray with pink guard hairs (pinch)
Fluoro floss or thread (tag/hot spot) Fluorescent pink fluoro floss or glo brite (short length)
Ultra wire (rib) Silver wire (1 strand, small)
Thin Skin or flashback (shellback) Clear/pearl scud back or thin skin (1 strip)

Seat the slotted bead against the eye, start the thread and lay a base to the bend.
Bind a short fluorescent pink tag at the very rear so a bright band shows at the tail, then trim.
Tie in the silver wire and a strip of Thin Skin (shiny side down) at the bend, both hanging rearward.
Dub a slightly tapered, buggy body forward to the bead using half the dubbing you think you need, keeping it sparse and flat.
Pull the shellback flat over the top and bind it behind the bead.
Counter-wrap the wire forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns to segment the shellback, then helicopter off the tag.
Pick out the sides of the dubbing with a bodkin so pink guard hairs splay as legs, then whip finish behind the bead.
