Pink Lady Emerger

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Curved emerger / scud hook, 14-18
  • Thread Pink or tan 8/0

Materials

  • Trailing shuck Amber vinyl rib medium (few strands Zelon/Antron)
  • Abdomen Pinkish-salmon (fine dubbing)
  • Emerging wing Dun CDC (1 short clump)
  • Thorax Slightly darker pink/tan (pinch dubbing)

How to tie it

  1. Lay a thread base on the curved hook down to the bend. Tie in a few amber Zelon fibers as a short trailing shuck, about half a shank long.
  2. Dub a slim pinkish-salmon abdomen up and around the curve to the 60% mark.
  3. Tie in a short clump of dun CDC as an emerging wing, tips reaching just past the thorax.
  4. Dub a slightly darker, fuller thorax in front of and around the wing base.
  5. Sweep the CDC wing rearward over the thorax and secure it with a couple of wraps at the eye.
  6. Whip finish and add a tiny drop of cement, keeping it off the CDC.
