Tyer Recipe

  • Hook standard dry fly, 10-14
  • Thread pink 8/0

Materials

  • hackle fibers (tail) Ginger hackle fibers (small bunch)
  • floss body Pink floss (thin layer)
  • palmered hackle Ginger/brown hackle (1-2 feathers)
  • front hackle White dry fly hackle (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread behind the eye and wind to the bend.
  2. Tie in a short bunch of ginger hackle fibers for the tail, about one shank length.
  3. Build a thin pink floss body forward, stopping short of the eye.
  4. Tie in and palmer a ginger/brown hackle over the body in open turns.
  5. At the front, wind two or three turns of white hackle for high visibility.
  6. Whip finish behind the eye.
