Reference Recipe
- Hook Barbless jig nymph hook, 60-degree, 12-18
- Thread Brown or black 8/0
Materials
- Bead Copper/black slotted tungsten (1, sized to hook)
- Tail Coq de Leon (6-8 fibers)
- Body Pheasant tail or dark (5-6 fibers)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Hot-spot collar Fluoro pink mono (thread or Ice Dub, thin)
- Coating Clear head cement (thin UV resin (optional))
How to tie it
- Seat a slotted tungsten bead behind the eye on the barbless jig hook and lay a thread base.
- Tie in a coq de leon tail one shank length long and bind in the copper wire.
- Wrap a slim dark pheasant tail body forward, leaving room behind the bead for a collar.
- Counter-wrap the copper rib 5-6 evenly spaced turns and secure.
- Build a fluoro-pink hot-spot collar right behind the bead.
- Whip finish and optionally coat the body with thin UV resin.
