Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard dry fly, 14-16
- Thread Pink or tan 8/0
Materials
- Wing Tan/dun deer hair (1 comparadun clump)
- Trailing shuck Amber vinyl rib medium (few strands Zelon/Antron)
- Body Pinkish-salmon (fine dubbing)
How to tie it
- Start the thread at the 65% mark. Stack a clump of tan deer hair and tie it in standing upright, then fan it into a 180-degree comparadun wing.
- At the bend tie in a few amber Zelon fibers as a short trailing shuck, no longer than half the shank.
- Dub a slim pinkish-salmon body from the bend forward to the base of the wing.
- Build a small dam of dubbing right behind and in front of the wing to prop it upright.
- Whip finish behind the eye and add a tiny drop of cement to the wing base.
