Tyer Recipe

  • Hook wet fly, 10-14
  • Thread black 8/0

Materials

  • pine squirrel guard hair/underfur Natural deer hair (for tail and body)
  • pine squirrel dubbing Natural hare s ear dubbing (small amount)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in a small bunch of pine squirrel guard hairs for a soft tail at the bend.
  2. Spin pine squirrel underfur into a dubbing loop or noodle and wrap a buggy body forward.
  3. Pick out the fur to suggest legs and a wing-blur.
  4. Form a small head and whip finish.
