How to tie it
Slide a silver slotted tungsten bead on and seat it behind the eye. Start thread and run a base to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of coq de leon fibers for a tail about a shank length long.
Return the thread to build a slim, smooth underbody and coat it with a thin layer of super glue as a base for the quill.
Wrap a pre-soaked stripped peacock quill forward over the tacky underbody so the dark rib edge shows, stopping at the 65% mark; tie off.
Tie in a short piece of orange floss as a hot spot behind the thorax, no longer than half the body.
Dub a tiny thin ball of fox squirrel for the thorax.
Spin a few dun CDC fibers in a dubbing loop and take two to three turns as a soft collar, this acts as a parachute to slow the sink, then whip finish and coat the quill abdomen with thin UV resin.
