Slide a gold bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
Tie in a tail of pheasant tail fibers about half a shank long, then bind a copper wire at the base.
Wrap the same pheasant tail fibers forward to the 65% mark as a slim body and tie off, then counter-rib with the copper wire in 5-6 open turns and lock it in.
Leave the pheasant tips pointing forward for the wing case, then wrap a peacock-herl thorax up to the bead.
Fold the pheasant tips back over the thorax to form a wing case, tie down behind the bead, and split the leftover tips back as legs.
Whip finish behind the bead, snip, and add a drop of head cement.
