Classic Recipe

Materials
- Tail GP tippet (small)
- Body Rear half silver tinsel, front half red seal fur (two-part)
- Rib Silver oval (over both)
- Wing Barred teal flank feather (rolled)
- Hackle Black hen (beard)
How to tie it
- Mount the wet hook and start black thread at the bend. Tie in a small golden-pheasant tippet tail, tips pointing back.
- Bind in a length of silver oval tinsel at the bend to hang for the rib.
- Wrap flat silver tinsel over the rear half of the shank for the body's back half.
- Dub or wrap red seal fur (or substitute) over the front half of the body up to the thorax.
- Spiral the silver oval rib forward over both halves in 4-5 evenly spaced turns and tie off.
- Tie in a rolled barred teal wing on top, sitting low over the body and reaching to the tail.
- Tie a sparse black hen hackle as a beard beneath the throat.
- Form a small head, whip finish and cement.
