Reference Recipe

  • Hook jig nymph hook, 14-18
  • Thread red 12/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Silver or copper slotted tungsten bead (1)
  • Body thread Red thread (as needed)
  • Fine wire rib Copper wire (1 strand)
  • UV resin Clear uv resin (thin coat)

How to tie it

  1. Seat a slotted tungsten bead at the eye and start thread behind it.
  2. Wrap a slim, even red body from behind the bead down around the bend and back, keeping the profile worm-thin.
  3. Counter-wrap a fine copper rib forward in 5-6 open turns for segmentation and tie off behind the bead.
  4. Whip finish behind the bead and snip.
  5. Skim the body with a thin coat of UV resin and cure to a slick, fast-sinking shell.
