How to tie it
Slide the 2.5 mm metallic pink tungsten bead onto a size 20 jig hook, run the thread all the way back to the bend and come forward again, building a small thread dam behind the bead to hold it in place.
Tie in the Mirage opal tinsel right behind the bead and wrap it back in touching turns to build the body. There is no tail on this fly at all, nothing to create drag and slow the sink.
Unwind the thread counterclockwise to flatten it out and bring it back forward.
Wrap the Mirage tinsel forward as the rib and capture it. This tinsel has a habit of sliding around on the thread, and it is the fiddliest part of an otherwise very simple fly. Trim it off.
Put in a couple of whip finishes and cut the thread away.
Add thin hard UV resin, spread it out evenly with a bodkin and take off any excess, this is a small fly and does not need much. Spin the hook to even it out and cure it under the light in a couple of passes.
Once the resin is set, add a small pad of black Sally Hansen Hard as Nails on top as the wing case.
