Reference Recipe
- Hook jig or standard nymph hook, 14-18
- Thread black 12/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Silver bead (1)
- Coq de Leon fibers Natural coq de leon fibers (small bunch)
- Holographic tinsel or Mylar Pearl/silver flashabou (as needed)
- Hot-spot thread Red thread (few turns)
- UV resin Clear uv resin (thin coat)
How to tie it
- Seat a slotted tungsten bead at the eye and start thread behind it.
- Tie in a short Coq de Leon tail, one half shank long.
- Bind holographic tinsel at the tail and wrap it forward in touching turns to build a bright, flashy body; tie off short of the bead.
- Add a few turns of red hot-spot thread behind the bead and whip finish.
- Snip the thread and skim the whole flashy body with thin UV resin, curing to a glossy, fast-sinking shell.
