Hook Daiichi 1760, 10
Thread Wine or claret
Materials
Micro rabbit or pine squirrel zonker (back strip)
Wire Wine (rib)
Flashabou Pearl flashabou (body)
Arizona Simi Seal Black purple arizona simi seal (small dubbing loop collar)
How to tie it
Start wine or claret thread on a size 10 Daiichi 1760 and tie in a micro rabbit or pine squirrel zonker strip at the rear, leaving it long enough to fold forward later.
Tie in wine wire and pearl Flashabou at the same point.
Wrap the Flashabou up the shank in touching turns to build a bright underbody.
Pull the zonker strip forward over the top, tie it down behind the eye, trim the excess and tidy it up.
Wiggle the wire forward through the fur rather than wrapping straight over it, so you trap as few fibres as possible. One pass does two jobs: it pins the hide down and segments the body at the same time. Tie it off behind the eye and helicopter the tag out.
Make a small dubbing loop of black purple Arizona Simi Seal, brush it out and take a couple of turns as a collar.
Tie off, whip finish, dab glue on the thread and brush the collar out.
