How to tie it
Bead the size 16 D04 with a 3mm silver tungsten and start black flat thread. Flat thread lays without ridges and gives the slick underbody a quill needs. Any lump underneath shows straight through.
Tie in a sparse Coq de Leon flor de escoba tail at the bend.
Wrap the Hends Body Pearlescent Quill forward in tight touching turns to just behind the bead, keeping each turn just touching the last so the body stays smooth.
Whip finish behind the bead, then coat the body in UV Perdigon resin and cure. The resin is what brings out the shifting pearl and UV reflections the material is built for. Dry, the quill looks far duller than it does finished.
Choose colours by eye rather than by name. Hends label these by code and Vasies points out that the shades genuinely cannot be described by a single colour word.
