How to tie it

  2. Build the underbody with brown thread behind the bead. (BO-6krsXuSI 1:04)
  3. Tie in fine silver Uni-French wire and bind it to the bend, then build a tapered body shape. (BO-6krsXuSI 1:40)
  4. Start the orange 8/0 tying thread, secure the underbody thread and trim it. (BO-6krsXuSI 2:56)
  5. Tie in a length of Uni-Mylar #16 tinsel along one side of the hook. (BO-6krsXuSI 3:50)
  6. Tie in a few pheasant tail fibres as the tail, set the length and bind them along the body. (BO-6krsXuSI 4:40)
  7. Tie in more pheasant tail fibres at the bend for the body and wrap them forward in touching turns; tie off and trim. (BO-6krsXuSI 6:00)
  8. Rib the tinsel forward in evenly spaced turns in the same direction as the body; tie off and trim. (BO-6krsXuSI 7:38)
  9. Counter-wrap the wire in evenly spaced turns; tie off and trim. (BO-6krsXuSI 8:33)
  10. Dub a collar of bright orange Spectra dubbing, then a little peacock-coloured dubbing blend. (BO-6krsXuSI 9:34)
  11. Whip finish, cut the thread and brush the collar out with velcro. (BO-6krsXuSI 11:09)
