Materials
- Variegated chenille Purple/black variegated chenille (body)
- Round rubber legs Black or black-barred rubber legs (3 pairs plus tails and antennae)
- Lead-free wire - (optional underbody)
How to tie it
- Add an optional lead-free underbody over the middle of the shank and cover with thread.
- Tie in two rubber-leg tips at the bend as splayed tails about half a shank long.
- Tie in the purple/black variegated chenille at the bend and advance the thread forward.
- Wind the chenille forward, figure-8ing a pair of legs at the one-third and two-thirds points.
- Take the chenille to the 85% mark and tie off, then tie two leg tips at the head as forward antennae.
- Form the head, whip finish and cement; trim tails and antennae to shank length and side legs to reach the point.
