Tyer Recipe
- Hook Curved midge/emerger hook, 18-24
- Thread Black 8/0-14/0
Materials
- Tying thread (body) Black thread (body)
- Fine wire Silver wire (rib)
- Superfine dubbing Grey/black superfine dubbing (pinch (thorax))
- Antron / Fluoro fibre White fluorofibre (small tuft (gills))
How to tie it
- Mount the midge hook and cover the shank with a smooth thin black thread body down to the bend.
- Tie in fine silver wire at the bend.
- Wrap the thread body forward to the thorax area, then rib with the silver wire in evenly spaced turns and tie off.
- Tie in a small white gill tuft at the head and trim it short over the eye.
- Dub a small grey/black thorax behind and around the gills.
- Build a small thread head and whip finish.
