Tyer Recipe

• Hook standard wet fly / nymph, 1x heavy, 12-16
• Thread Orange 8/0

Materials

• Silk floss or thread Orange floss (body)
• Hare's mask dubbing Natural hare s ear dubbing (small pinch, thorax)
• Partridge hackle Brown/grey soft hackle (one feather)

How to tie it

1. Start thread behind the eye and wrap back to the point above the barb.
2. Wrap orange silk forward over the rear two-thirds of the shank to form a slim body, stopping about two eye-widths behind the eye.
3. Dub a small pinch of hare's mask for a slightly built-up thorax.
4. Tie in a partridge feather by the tip and take one to two turns for a sparse, swept-back collar.
5. Secure the hackle, form a small neat head, and whip finish.
