Mount the wet-fly hook and start green thread. Wrap a thread-thin green silk or floss body from the bend to the 80% mark, keeping it slender.
Optional: spiral 4 turns of fine gold wire forward over the body for a rib and tie off.
Tie in a partridge back feather by the tip at the front of the body.
Take 1-2 turns of the partridge (countable fibers only, this is a spider) then sweep the fibers back and lock with two thread wraps.
Form a tiny neat head, whip finish and add a touch of cement.
