  • Hook standard dry fly, #12-#16
  • Thread gray 8/0

Materials

  • hackle fibers Mixed grizzly and brown (tail)
  • dubbing Yellow superfine dubbing (egg sac)
  • dubbing Muskrat gray (body)
  • poly yarn White poly yarn (parachute post)
  • hackle Grizzly and brown hackle (parachute)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and wrap to the bend; tie in a small bunch of mixed grizzly and brown hackle fibers as a tail.
  2. Dub a small ball of yellow dubbing at the rear as an egg sac.
  3. Tie in a white poly-yarn post upright at about two-thirds up the shank.
  4. Dub a gray body forward around the base of the post to just behind the eye.
  5. Tie in grizzly and brown hackle at the post and wind parachute-style around it, then tie off.
  6. Form a small head and whip finish.
