How to tie it
Start pale yellow thread on a #16 dry-fly hook and tie in a small bunch of moose body hair for a tail about one shank-length long, keeping it on top; wrap forward over the butts to the 2/3 point.
Tie in a pale yellow poly yarn post at the 2/3 point with a few turns front and back, then post the base with thread wraps up the yarn.
Add a thin layer of thread to taper the underbody, then dub a slim PMD superfine body from the tail forward to the post.
Prepare and tie in a dun hackle at the base of the post, and add a tiny bit of dubbing in front of the post to level the body.
Wrap the hackle up the post and back down, bringing the thread under the hackle to secure it in front.
Half-hitch (or whip finish) under the hackle, trim the excess hackle, and trim the post to about one shank-length tall.
