- Hook standard dry fly, 12-14
- Thread tan 8/0
Materials
- Dry fly hackle Light dun hackle (1 feather)
- Poly yarn or calf hair (post) Light dun deer or comparadun hair (small clump)
- Dun hackle fibers or Microfibbets (tail) Light dun hackle fibers or microfibbets (small bunch)
- Dry fly dubbing Pinkish tan (Hendrickson) (pinch)
How to tie it
- Lay a thread base and tie in a light dun tail one shank length long.
- Stand a light dun post at the 65% mark with criss-cross turns and a front thread dam.
- Dub a slim, tapered pinkish-tan body from the bend to the post.
- Dub a small thorax in front of the post.
- Tie in the light dun hackle at the post and wind 4-5 turns down the post, then secure.
- Sweep the fibers up, whip finish at the eye, and cement the post base.
