Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry fly, 12-16
- Thread cream 8/0
Materials
- Dry fly hackle Light ginger dry fly hackle (1 feather)
- Poly yarn (hi-vis post) Fluorescent orange or pink poly yarn (small clump)
- Ginger hackle fibers or Microfibbets (tail) Cream/ginger hackle fibers or microfibbets (small bunch)
- Dry fly dubbing Cream laser dub (pinch)
How to tie it
- Lay a thread base and tie in a cream tail one shank length long.
- Stand a hi-vis poly post at the 65% mark with criss-cross turns and a front thread dam.
- Dub a slim, tapered cream body from the bend up to the post.
- Dub a small thorax in front of the post.
- Tie in the light ginger hackle at the post and wind 4-5 turns down the post, then secure.
- Sweep the fibers up, whip finish at the eye, and cement the post base.
