Materials
- Microfibetts or hackle barbs (tail) Dun hackle (a few fibers)
- Fine dry-fly dubbing Olive ice dub (small pinch)
- Poly yarn (post) White poly yarn (small tuft)
- Dry-fly hackle Blue dun hackle (1 feather)
How to tie it
- Start the thread and tie in an upright white post at the 65% mark, collaring its base to stand it up.
- Tie in a sparse dun tail at the bend, one shank length long.
- Dub a slim olive body from the bend to the post.
- Tie a blue-dun hackle in at the post, shiny side up.
- Dub a small thorax around the post base and up to the eye.
- Wind the hackle parachute-style in 4-5 turns and tie off against the post.
- Whip finish at the eye and add a tiny drop of cement, keeping it off the hackle.
