How to tie it
Mount the foam cylinder on the Kreb's jig, pin it through the side hole, and with a fresh razor make the three cuts (flush face, bevel, and the guillotine slot) to shape the popper body; slit it underneath to the bevel for the hook, and open the slit by working a bodkin into the foam.
Set the hook (Gamakatsu B10S) in the vise and lay a thread base along the shank.
Tie in a compact arctic-fox tail (colour 1, and a second colour if two-tone) about one-and-a-half shank-lengths long; arctic fox is used because it compacts to fit inside the popper body and keeps its bushy profile wet.
Add a few strands of polar flash over the tail, then a pair of sili legs along the sides.
Wrap a smooth thread bed over the front of the shank where the foam body will seat.
Coat the hook shank/thread bed with Loctite gel, then slide the pre-cut foam popper body onto the shank so the slit closes around the hook and the tail material tucks into the rear of the body.
Seat the body firmly against the glue and let it set, then glue mono barbell eyes to each side of the head.
Add a drop of gel to lock the eyes and finish the popper.
