  • Hook Short-shank egg / scud hook, 10-16
  • Thread Matching egg color 8/0

Materials

  • Otter's Soft Milking Egg material Egg color of choice (1 plug)
  • Soft egg-veil yarn (optional) Contrasting / white soft egg veil yarn (small wisp)

How to tie it

  1. Lay a thread base over the center of a short egg hook and return the thread to the middle.
  2. Cut a plug of the soft milking-egg material and tie it in at midshank with two or three firm wraps.
  3. Gather the material evenly around the shank and cinch it into a round, plump egg shape.
  4. If using a veil, lay a small wisp of contrasting egg yarn over the top and bind it so it drapes back over the egg.
  5. Whip finish under the egg and trim to a clean round ball with a soft veil.
