How to tie it
Tie the rear section first on the TMC 800S: start black Nanosilk and wrap a collar of fluorescent orange cross-cut rabbit all the way around the shank so the trailer hook is completely encased in rabbit.
Tie the tiger-barred magnum rabbit strip in on top as the tail, then add a few strands of orange lateral-scale flash down each side. Build and epoxy a small head over the tie-in and set the rear section aside to cure.
Mount the front hook, tie in a length of Senyo's Intruder wire at the front, run it back to the very end of the shank and bend it back a little, using as much of the shank as you can.
Thread the rear section onto the wire so the trailer hook rides point-up, pull the loop snug, lash it down hard (Nanosilk is slippery, so make sure it is really locked), then fold the wire back over itself and bind it down again so it cannot pull free. Trim the tag.
Working from the back of the front shank, tie in the olive-copper UV Polar Chenille and take a few turns to start the body, keeping the flash low so it is hidden under the softer materials.
Tie in small pinches of barred craft fur around the shank to envelope the front hook and cover the bare gap between the two hooks. Split the bunches rather than tying a big clump at once, and keep some of the fine underfur in to bulk it up.
Add a few turns of the copper UV Polar Chenille in front of the craft fur, fold the fibers back and lash them down with plenty of thread so the material pulses rather than sticks out.
Tie in the Silly Legs along each side, then a pinch of Senyo's Laser Dub underneath and a few strands of red flash, keeping all the flash under the softer, breathing materials.
Brush the underfur out of a last bunch of craft fur and lash it in on top, well back from the eye so there is room for the head. Tie it forward and back so it folds over itself and covers the top half of the shank.
Leave plenty of clean shank, slide the medium gold Fish-Skull Baitfish Head on, secure it with red thread, whip finish and cement. Cut the bend off the front hook with heavy pliers once the fly is finished.
