- Hook Standard dry fly hook, 10-16
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Body tinsel Opal/pearl mirage (1 strand)
- Wing calf tail White calf body hair (small clump)
- Hackle Brown hackle (1-2 feathers)
How to tie it
- Lay a thread base and wrap the opal tinsel forward to form a flashy body over the rear two-thirds.
- Tie in a clump of white calf tail as a Trude-style downwing angled back over the body to near the bend.
- Trim the wing butts and wind a brown hackle collar in front of the wing.
- Build a small head and whip finish.
