- Micro Flashabou Pearl or matching micro flashabou (few strands)
How to tie it
- Lash the dumbbell eyes on top of the shank about one eye-length back so the fly rides hook-point up; figure-8 and lock with a drop of cement.
- At the bend tie in a rabbit strip tail about 1.5 shank lengths long, hide side down, then a few strands of micro Flashabou each side.
- Tie in a length of cross-cut rabbit at the base of the tail.
- Palmer the cross-cut rabbit forward to just behind the eyes in touching turns, stroking the fur back each wrap so it doesn't bind; tie off.
- Figure-8 a few thread wraps around the dumbbell, build a neat head, whip finish and cement.
