Slide the bead to the eye, then wrap 8-12 turns of lead-free wire behind it and jam them against the bead to lock it; start the thread and bind the wire flat.
At the bend tie in a marabou tail one shank length long, then a few strands of silver Flashabou over it, slightly longer than the tail.
Tie in a black hackle by its tip and a length of UV Polar Chenille at the bend.
Wrap the Polar Chenille forward in touching turns to just behind the bead, sweeping the fibers back as you go; tie off and trim.
Palmer the hackle forward through the body in 4-5 open, evenly spaced turns; tie off behind the bead and trim.
Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
