Olsen's Tungsten Taco Egg Fl. Cheese

Egg · Trout · Steelhead · Salmon · Beginner · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Barbless jig hook, 14-16
  • Thread Pale yellow 12/0 or 18-denier

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Gold or fluorescent orange slotted tungsten bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Eggstacy / egg chenille Fluorescent cheese (pale yellow) (1 short length)

How to tie it

  1. Drop the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook and seat it at the eye.
  2. Start the thread right behind the bead and lay a short, tight thread base at the 60-70% mark.
  3. Tie in the tip of the Eggstacy egg yarn directly behind the bead.
  4. Make 2-4 touching wraps of egg yarn packed tight behind the bead to build a dense ball, then tie off and trim the excess.
  5. Whip finish under the egg, then tease and pick the yarn so it puffs into a round egg that folds forward over the bead and hides it.
