Lay a smooth thread base on the beaded hook with black Veevus, giving the bobbin a counter-clockwise spin to keep the thread flat.
Tie in a tag of pink Glo-Brite floss at the rear, keeping everything underneath as smooth as you can — this body has to stay slim.
Tuck the small silver UTC Ultra Wire into the slot of the bead, bring it back along the side of the hook to the tag tie-in point, bind it there and run the thread all the way forward.
Wrap the iridescent purple Semperfli Perdigon Body forward in turns as close to touching as this very thin material allows; any gaps simply read as extra segmentation.
Rib forward over the body with the wire, tie it down and helicopter it out.
Trim the floss tag off about even with the back end of the hook.
Start the thorax with a small bump of UV black Ice Dub behind the bead.
Split the thread, set a natural dun CDC feather into it, give the thread a clockwise turn to cord it back up, then wrap the collar; pull all the fibers back and rip them to length with your fingernails.
Add a very short touch more Ice Dub in front of the collar — just enough to go around the fly a couple of times and hold the CDC fibers back without adding bulk — then whip finish.
