Start UTC Ultra Thread 70D purple right behind the bead on the Perdijig hook, pushing the wraps forward with thumb and index finger to lock a thread dam against the bead, then work back down the shank and cut out the tag.
Cut a six-inch strand of #2 Glo Bright Floss FL Pink into four pieces, wet the tips, and lock one piece down at about its midpoint with a single wrap; fold the forward half back over and lock that down too — the small bump fills in later.
Take the thread up toward the bead and trim the tail off short, leaving just a hot spot tag.
Tie in small silver UTC Wire right behind the bead on your side and bind it rearward with clean touching wraps, then bring the thread forward.
Add a touch of dubbing wax, noodle Hareline Ice Dub purple on tight, and wrap forward, opening the wraps up as you approach the bead to build the taper; pluck any stragglers out with your fingers.
Counter-wrap the wire forward for segmentation and durability, catch it off and helicopter it out.
Make a small dubbing loop, lay half a Wapsi CDC feather into it and cut along the stem while holding tension, spin the loop up until the fibers stand out, and wrap the collar; sweep all the fibers back and cut the loop out.
Do a one-turn whip finish only, so the bead is not crowded, then start FL Pink 70D right behind the bead, take a couple of wraps for the hot spot collar, whip finish and cut the tag.
