How to tie it
Start thread and wrap a smooth base to the bend of the curved hook.
Tie in fine copper wire, then dub a slim tapered abdomen two-thirds of the way up the shank.
Counter-wrap the wire in 4-5 open turns and tie off for segmentation and durability.
Tie in a generous bunch of natural CDC tips at the front, pointing forward over the eye.
Dub a small dark thorax just behind the CDC.
Lift the CDC bunch upright and take thread turns in front of it to prop it into a fanned shuttlecock standing over the eye; this cone of CDC floats the head while the body hangs below the film.
