Olsen's DNA Worm
Nymph · Egg · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version
Reference Recipe
- Hook Curved scud/grub hook, 8-12
- Thread Red 16/0
Materials
- Life Flex strand Red buzzer wrap (1)
- Life Flex strand Fluorescent pink rear bump (1)
- Thread Red thread (as needed)
- UV resin Clear uv resin (small drop)
How to tie it
- Start red thread at the center of the shank and build a short thread bump.
- Hold one red and one fluorescent-pink strand of Life Flex together across the hook at mid-shank.
- Twist the two strands together into a single rope, then bind the twist down at the center with several tight turns, leaving a long tag fore and aft.
- Trim each tag to about one shank length so the worm has a wiggly section reaching past the eye and past the bend.
- Build a small red thread head over the tie-in, whip finish, then lock the wraps with a tiny drop of UV resin so the strands cannot pull free.
