  • Hook Jig nymph hook (60-degree), 16-20
  • Thread Black 12/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Silver bead (1)
  • Coq de Leon tail fibers Natural pardo (small bunch)
  • Perdigon body / holographic tinsel Blue steel (gunmetal blue) perdigon body holographic tinsel (1 strand)
  • Thread Black thread (as needed)
  • UV resin Clear uv resin (thin coat)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a silver slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook, slot to the rear, and seat against the eye.
  2. Start black thread behind the bead and lay a thin base to the barb.
  3. Tie in a sparse coq de leon tail one shank length long and trim the butts.
  4. Catch in the blue-steel body material at the tail.
  5. Wrap thread forward to just behind the bead, then wind the body forward in touching turns building a slim taper; tie off and snip.
  6. Whip finish, then coat the whole body from tail to bead with a thin layer of UV resin and cure for the fast-sinking perdigon shell.
