- Hook jig nymph hook, #12-#18
- Thread Black 8/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Gold or copper slotted tungsten bead (1)
- Coq de Leon fibers Natural pardo (for tail)
- Tying thread (body) Black thread (for body)
- Ice Dub Peacock/UV black ice dub (for thorax)
- Fluoro fibre / floss collar Fire orange (for hot-spot collar)
- CDC Natural dun cdc feather (optional collar)
How to tie it
- Slide the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook and mount the hook, starting thread behind the bead.
- Tie in a short Coq de Leon tail at the bend, about half a hook-length long.
- Build a smooth thread body forward to the thorax area.
- Dub a small peacock Ice Dub thorax behind the bead.
- Tie in a bright fire-orange collar just behind the bead as the hot spot; add a turn of CDC if desired.
- Whip finish behind the bead.
