Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Pike · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Big-game streamer hook, 4-6
  • Thread Olive 210 denier

Materials

  • Fish-Skull Bandito Sculpin head Olive grizzly micro legs silicone (1 (small))
  • Rabbit zonker strip (tail + body) Olive grizzly, black-barred rabbit zonker strip (2 strips)
  • Grizzly marabou/soft-hackle fins Yellow marabou (2 feathers)
  • UV resin Clear uv resin (small bead)

How to tie it

  1. Start olive thread around the 30% point, behind where the sculpin head will sit, and lay a firm thread base.
  2. Tie in an olive grizzly-barred rabbit zonker strip as a tail extending about 1.5 shank lengths past the bend; a drop of cement at the tie-in adds durability.
  3. Palmer a second zonker strip forward in touching turns to build a full body up to the 70% mark, stroking the fur rearward each wrap; tie off and trim.
  4. Tie in a yellow grizzly marabou feather on each side as splayed pectoral fins, reaching to about the hook point.
  5. Slide the olive Fish-Skull Bandito Sculpin head over the eye and snug it against the body; secure it with tight thread turns and a drop of super glue.
  6. Whip finish in the gap behind the head and lock the wraps with a small bead of UV resin.
