Classic Recipe

Materials
- Tail Dun fibers (bunch)
- Body Medium olive dubbing (slim)
- Wing Dun hen tips (upright)
- Hackle Medium dun hackle (2 feathers)
How to tie it
- Mount a standard dry-fly hook and start olive thread a third of the way back from the eye.
- Select two dun hen hackle tips, pair them concave sides together, and tie them in upright as divided wings one shank length tall.
- Post and divide the wings with figure-8 turns.
- Wrap back to the bend and tie in a bunch of dun hackle fibres as a tail, one shank length long.
- Dub a slim medium-olive body from the bend forward to the wing, keeping it thin.
- Tie in two medium dun hackles behind the wing and take two turns behind and two in front.
- Build a small head one eye-length clear of the eye, whip finish and cement.
