How to tie it
Start dark olive thread a little way back from the eye on a size 10 scud hook. Starting back leaves room for a proper thorax. A beadless buzzer needs that space and it is hard to claw back later.
Tie small gold wire in at that point, run it into the bend and come back up, spinning the bobbin to flatten the thread so the body stays slim, then build the taper by going three quarters back, up, halfway back, up.
Rib the body with the gold wire, tugging it snug as you go so there are no gaps under the turns, then tie off and build the thorax area up with thread.
Tie the orange stretch floss in by wrapping it round the thread and pulling it up under the shank so one tag falls to each side, then pull both back and bind them down to the wire. Check underneath that nothing shows.
Tie a single strand of opal tinsel in on top for the wing flash, then pull the stretch floss forward and up and across so the wing pads sit almost on top of the shank. Whip finish immediately. With stretchy material a knocked bobbin will unwind everything.
Pull the opal tinsel over, tie off, and use those wraps as a landing pad for the Uni-Stretch gills: twist them first, catch with one wrap on top, then a cross wrap between them and one in front so they stand.
Whip finish behind the gills, trim them flush and coat the body with superglue. Or build the thorax with resin if you want more shine and bulk.
