  • Hook Curved grub/buzzer hook (e.g. Kamasan B100), 10-16
  • Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

  • Tungsten bead / nugget Gold or olive tungsten bead nugget (1)
  • Tying thread Olive thread (body)
  • Holographic tinsel or fine wire Gold flashabou (rib)
  • Holographic tinsel Orange or red holographic tinsel (cheeks / wing buds)
  • Peacock herl or olive dubbing Natural / olive peacock herl or dubbing (thorax)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the tungsten bead to the eye and start olive thread behind it.
  2. Build a smooth, slim olive thread body from behind the bead around the bend and back.
  3. Tie in gold holographic rib and spiral it in 5-6 open turns to segment the body; tie off.
  4. Coat the body with thin UV resin or head cement for a glossy, durable finish.
  5. Tie in two short orange holo slips as cheeks along each side of the thorax.
  6. Wind a small peacock or olive thorax behind the bead, whip finish, and add a drop of resin.
