Reference Recipe
- Hook Jig hook, barbless (e.g. Fulling Mill Jig Force Short), 12
- Thread Fluorescent orange 6/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Fluorescent orange (or peach) (1 (3/16" / 4.6mm))
- Flexi Squishenille UV Fluorescent orange (or shrimp pink) (body)
How to tie it
- Slot a fluorescent-orange tungsten bead onto the jig hook, seat it against the eye, and start thread behind it.
- Run the thread to the bend in touching turns to build a smooth base the squishenille can grip.
- Tie in a length of Flexi Squishenille at the bend by its core, leaving the rubber-legged fibers free.
- Wrap the squishenille forward in touching turns to just behind the bead, stroking the fibers back out of each wrap so none get trapped.
- Tie off tight behind the bead and snip the excess core.
- Whip finish behind the bead, then trim the squishenille to a rough even blob if bulky.
